UKRockers was formed by three friends known as James , Daniel and Steve who hosted a network gaming event for the Richard House Fund as part of a school event.
Where people came along and paid a small fee to play online (network) gaming which was very sucessful and we raised over £100 not bad for two hours work where people only paid 50p / £1 per game.
The Games we had on display where Team Fortess , Daytona USA - We when wanted to do this as a past time getting people together to play online games.
We made a website and played online on such games as Worms 2 and CounterStrike and we called ourselfs UKRockers.
The Community of UKRockers was and has been ever growing and the website has seen a number of changes over the years some for better and some for worse but we are still trying to find out what is best for the user.
UKRockers had a sucessful PC CounterStrike 1.6 team and Medal of Honour Allied Assault with many clan matches being played on such ladder websites as C******e and EnemyDown.
UKRockers then moved onto the Dreamcast online playing games such as Quake 3 Arena aswell as playing online with the PC still with games like Meald of Honour Allied Assault and Worms 2.
As the years went on UKRockers became bigger and bigger and then when XBOX came out UKRockers was very sucessful on games such as CounterStrike , Unreal Championship , Return to Castlewolfenstien , Far Cry and Halo 2 winner ladders and tournaments and lots of clan matches on the way.
Having not so much luck on the PS2 side of things by only being listed on Killzone , Socom playing matches which then died out for us with the lack of members showing interest.
UKRockers then hosted the first ever European Warp Pipe Mario Kart Double Dash Tournament on the Nintendo GameCube with Nintendo giving us a whole host of prizes to give out to the winners of the tournaments.
UKRockers then wanted to go one step further and we went along to a lan event known as RetroVision 5 where it saw us having our on section of lan'ed consoles we had two Dreamcasts , two XBOX's and two Playstations 2's all lanned up and ready to play.
The following year UKRockers went on to do the same sort of thing but at a event called GameCity where we had a bigger setup with four Xbox 360's , two Playstation 2's , two Dreamcast's , 4 GameCubes and 4 Xbox's which was also very sucessful.
UKRockers have also had its own internet radio known as UKR-Radio aswell as UKR-TV where myself and UKR Show (Daniel) create videos and upload them to YouTube and Dailymotion aswell as other video uploading website, making these videos does take a awful lot of time where we have to record and edit the videos ourself and you can see that we are quite good at doing it with 1000's of views per video and lots of comments and praise.
The UKRockers website has gone over vast amounts of changes over the years and we have also seen many members come and go but UKRockers is a friendly clan aswell as a gaming community where we have news , reviews and forums packed with everything gaming and there is something for everyone.
UKRockers then worked with a number of websites to offer partnerships and sponsorships such as GameScrubs which is a tournament website where we hosted Street Fighter , Mario Kart and other online gaming tournaments aswell as ConsoleCarnage and Clan Pixal.
UKRockers have been listed on a number of gaming ladder websites such as GameBattles , C******e , EnemyDown to name a few and have had strong clans doing very well and giving UKRockers a good name for themselfs on the way.
UKRockers now very active on PC once again with XBOX 360 becoming more quite as the leaders get older whats next for UKRockers.....
